Trump remains the center of attention, but he's increasingly isolated politically
Ahead of his 100th day in office later this month, Trump has struggled to build a governing coalition that matches the nontraditional alliance that put him in the Oval Office. And he has turned to making enemies out of former supporters among Republicans in Congress, even as Democrats keep him at arm's length.

Ahead of a visit by Egypt's president, Trump administration signals sharp policy shift
Despite sending $1.3 billion in military aid annually to Egypt, Barack Obama could not secure the release of an Egyptian American humanitarian worker. And Obama did not invite Abdel Fatah al-Sissi to the White House. The jailed aid worker's plight has become a symbol of the policy change that places security cooperation over human right concerns as the main barometer for engagement with authoritarian leaders.

2 suspects identified in sexual assault that was broadcast on Facebook, Chicago police say
Officials said that one of the suspects, a 14-year-old, was arrested and is facing felony charges for the alleged assault of a 15-year-old girl. The other suspect is expected to be arrested soon, police said.

White House social media director misused official position by going after GOP lawmaker, ethics experts say
Dan Scavino Jr. used his personal Twitter account to urge President Trump's supporters to challenge Freedom Caucus member Justin Amash, calling him "a big liability."

Ecuadorans vote in tense elections, brace for a narrow finish
The outcome is expected to be close, and observers fear a contested result that could trigger a crisis. The results will also be closely watched in London, as one of the candidates has pledged to evict Julian Assange from Ecuador's embassy there.
