At a primetime forum that offered a potential preview of the upcoming debates, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump suggested that Russian President Vladimir Putin is more worthy of praise than President Obama. Democrat Hillary Clinton offered herself as a model of "absolute rock steadiness" on foreign policy and navigated tough questions about her use of a private email server as secretary of state.
