Trump says he would '100%' talk to special counsel about Comey meetings
The president said he would be willing to meet with Robert Mueller to discuss conversations he had with FBI Director James Comey before he was fired. "One hundred percent," Trump told a reporter who asked whether he would be open to talking about the investigation into Russia's meddling in the 2016 election. Trump also claimed that Comey's testimony a day earlier pointed to no collusion with the Russians or an attempt to obstruct the probe.
The Fix: Trump thinks he got 'total vindication' from Comey. Except he didn't.

13 days in the history of the accused leader of the Benghazi attacks
Ahmed Abu Khattala was masked, handcuffed and gagged, then taken aboard a U.S. vessel for a journey across the Atlantic Ocean that would end in a U.S. courtroom. His lawyers want his statements to FBI investigators thrown out, arguing that his capture and detention in a windowless room below deck were coercive and render meaningless the many waivers he signed giving up his right to an attorney and not to incriminate himself.

Tillerson called for the Saudi-led bloc of nations to ease the blockade on Qatar. An hour later, Trump contradicted him.
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson wanted to resolve the week-long Persian Gulf dispute, warning that the blockade causes humanitarian hardship and has hindered U.S. military actions against ISIS. Then the president called the Saudi-led action "hard but necessary."

Prime minister's gamble on snap election backfires as Conservatives lose their majority
Despite a shocking election result that robbed May's party of its parliamentary majority, the prime minister said she will remain in power and push ahead with critical talks on Britain's exit from the European Union. The political wreckage also included the resignation of Paul Nuttall as leader of the U.K. Independence Party, which led the charge for Brexit but lost its sole seat in Parliament in a further sign of shifting British views and political realignments.

Theresa May has hobbled her premiership with a self-inflicted wound
