As Republicans scramble, Roy Moore denies sexual misconduct
The Senate candidate from Alabama denied any misconduct in a radio interview and said he never knew the woman who accused him of initiating sexual contact when she was 14 and he was 32, but he said he knew other women who spoke to The Post, which published the allegations Thursday. As other prominent Republicans called for their party to sever ties with Moore, the National Republican Senatorial Committee filed paperwork to end its fundraising agreement with him.

Comments from the White House calling the accusations "a mere allegation" are in stark contrast to the previous Republican presidential nominee, Mitt Romney, who tweeted that the GOP shouldn't bother with reasonable doubt and said Moore should drop out now.
