Justices deadlock over major challenge to organized labor
The result was a defeat for a group of California teachers who claimed their free speech rights were violated when they were forced to pay dues to the state's teachers union.
Supreme Court suggests way employees could get contraceptive coverage without employer action
The justices also called for additional briefing on alternative ways that employees of religious organizations could receive coverage for birth control without involving the organizations themselves. The new order could mean that the court is deadlocked on the case.
 
Suspected EgyptAir hijacker arrested after flight diverted to Cyprus
An Egyptian airliner passenger claiming to have an explosive belt diverted the flight from Alexandria, releasing dozens of passengers but holding others onboard for hours.
 
Trump's campaign manager charged with battery in incident involving reporter
Corey Lewandowski turned himself in to police in Florida and was charged with misdemeanor battery. Trump's campaign denies what is now seen on video, with the candidate himself tweeting that there is "nothing there."
