After McCabe firing, Trump attacks FBI and his lawyer says Russia probe must end
The president celebrated via Twitter the ouster of former deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe, who had been probing connections between Trump's 2016 campaign and Russia, as "A great day for Democracy." McCabe said his dismissal was a deliberate effort to slander him and part of an "ongoing war" against the FBI and the Russia probe being led by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III.
