Tumult in Trump’s national security transition
It was not immediately clear why national security adviser to Trump's transition team Mike Rogers resigned. Eliot Cohen, a former State and Defense department official in Republican administrations, urged career officials not to serve in a Trump administration and tweeted: "They're angry, arrogant, screaming 'you LOST!'… Will be ugly."

"The price of another 'reset' would be complicity in Putin and Assad's butchery of the Syrian people," said the GOP senator, who is chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
 
Defiant LAPD chief says department won't aid Trump's deportation efforts
"If the federal government takes a more aggressive role on deportation, then they'll have to do that on their own," Charlie Beck said.
