Hawaii received false alert about missile attack, sending people scrambling
The alert warning of an inbound "missile threat" was reportedly sent by mistake, officials said. Nearly 20 minutes later, the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency tweeted that there was no threat. Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) admonished the wayward message and vowed to "make sure it never happens again."
