Delayed health bill vote gives critics on the right time to rally more opponents
The vote is on hold because Sen. John McCain is recovering from surgery, and his absence could prevent the legislation from moving forward. "It's not at all consistent with Republican principles. . . . We promised repeal," Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky said.
Poll finds Trump's standing weakened since springtime
The president's overall approval rating has dropped to 36 percent from 42 percent in April, according to a new Post-ABC News poll. Overall, 48 percent of Americans say they "disapprove strongly" of Trump's performance in office, a level never reached by former presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama and reached only in the second term of George W. Bush.

Trump defends his son — drawing a contrast with Clinton — and says media are 'distorting democracy'
Tweeting from his private golf club in Bedminster, N.J., the president lashed out at the media for coverage of the disclosure that his oldest son and namesake held a meeting last year with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer who offered damaging information about Hillary Clinton.

A reluctant first lady — seldom seen in the U.S. — finds her comfort zone overseas
In general, it is on foreign trips that Melania Trump has made herself most visible, garnering extensive news coverage at home and internationally, offering fodder for both the style-watchers assessing her fashion choices (largely positive) and political analysts gauging her influence on the president (she's said to have a calming effect).

White House unveils 'Made in America' week, though many Trump products are made overseas
For this president, highlighting U.S.-made products is inconsistent with his practices as a businessman. The Trump Organization has outsourced much of its product manufacturing for years, relying on a global network of factories in a dozen countries.

Ann Coulter declares Delta 'the worst airline in America' after she was allegedly asked to switch seats
The outspoken conservative commentator documented the experience in photos and tweet after tweet, which she shared with her 1.6 million followers. An airline representative said the new seat was in the same row.

Roger Federer further cements hold on record books with 8th Wimbledon win
The 35-year-old Swiss star became the oldest Wimbledon champion of the Open Era and extended his Grand Slam title total to 19 without dropping a set to Croatia's Marin Cilic.

In the Oval Office, evangelical pastors prayed over Trump. One critic said the action bordered on 'heresy.'
"When you can p-r-a-y for a president and others while they are p-r-e-y, preying on the most vulnerable, you're violating the most sacred principles of religion," the Rev. William Barber II said.

Iran says a Princeton graduate student was a spy, sentencing him to 10 years
The accused was identified as 37-year-old Chinese American Xiyue Wang, according to a news agency affiliated with the hard-line judiciary.

The star of 'Doctor Who' has always been a man — until now
The British sci-fi TV series that premiered in 1963 announced that Jodie Whittaker will play the lead role of the Time Lord.

Perspective
'Game of Thrones' Season 7 begins tonight. Who is likeliest to be marked for death?
As we've been reminded many times, all men must die, but some are going to do it sooner than others.

Racial disparities — including poverty and prejudice — raise Alzheimer's risk for African Americans, research suggests
Four separate studies found that poor living conditions and stressful events have severe consequences for brain health later in life, and those risk factors were disproportionately higher among African Americans.
